Chances are if you’re checking out this page, you or might be struggling to accept, appreciate, or make peace with your body (I’ve been there—and still need to actively work on this myself). You may have been told that if you only changed your body, your negative body image issues would go away. However, this is simply not the case! Healing your relationship with your body is an inside job, meaning that it’s not so much about what your body looks like on the outside as it is how you feel about your body. Changing your body will never actually bring you the peace that you yearn for in the long run. How do you actually work on the relationship you have with your body then? This is where I can help.
At Golden Hour, my approach to body image is highly influenced by the concept of “body neutrality.” Although loving your body is still a worthy goal, that can often feel out of reach. Instead, my focus is summarized by the following quote: “Loving your body isn’t thinking your body looks good. It is knowing your body is good, regardless of how it looks.” -Lindsay Kite
“Loving your body isn’t thinking your body looks good. It is knowing your body is good, regardless of how it looks.”
